The canvasser taps the house on the map. The address fills itself in, so there is nothing to type.

Your campaign's own questions appear, with the door's earlier visits on top. "Nobody home"? The conversation questions step aside.

The pin takes the colour of the answer, and the whole team sees the door is done. A mistake? The pencil fixes it for 24 hours.
Finished a whole street? Canvassers can also record every door on it in one step.

What volunteers and organisers ask first.
Do canvassers need to download an app?
No. KnockTurf is a web app: canvassers open it in the browser on the phone they already have, sign in, and their map is there. There is nothing to download from an app store and nothing to update.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It runs in the phone's browser, so it works on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers alike. Canvassers can also add it to their home screen so it opens like an app.
Is a canvasser's location shared?
No. The blue dot showing where a canvasser is standing is worked out on their own phone and is not sent to the campaign or stored.
Does it need a data connection?
Yes. Visits are saved as they are recorded, so the phone needs mobile data or Wi-Fi at the door.
Can canvassers use it in French?
Yes. The canvasser app is available in English and French, chosen from the menu. Your campaign's own questions appear exactly as you wrote them.
