For door-to-door sales and home services

Every door, every lead, every follow-up, on one map.

Field sales is a numbers game played one door at a time. KnockTurf gives each rep their own territory, records what happened at every door, and turns "come back next week" into a dated follow-up.

  • Nothing to install

What your campaign needs from a canvass

And how KnockTurf handles each of them.

Territory your reps can finish

Draw a territory, see how many doors it holds, and give each rep their own patch. Nobody knocks the same street twice by accident.

Leads, with permission

Capture the homeowner's name, phone and email at the door, with their permission to contact them recorded: who asked, when, and the exact words.

Follow-ups that close

"Call me after the weekend" becomes a dated follow-up with an owner, so the warm lead gets the second visit.

Questions you might ask at the door

Start from a ready-made set in the question builder, then reword, add or retire questions at any time. Answers already collected are kept.

  1. Interest: wants a quote, call back later, not interested, already has one
  2. Best contact number
  3. Follow-up date

Territory and turf

Draw the ground, hand it out, and know how much of it is left.

Draw areas on a map

Click a corner at a time to outline a neighbourhood, a poll or a single street, then drag the corners to reshape it whenever plans change.

No shapefiles and no GIS knowledge. The person who knows the ward draws it.

A real door count for every area

Each area is counted from municipal address data where it has been loaded, and from OpenStreetMap buildings and addresses everywhere else. Recount at any time.

Progress has an honest denominator, so "80% done" means 80% of the doors.

Assign turf to canvassers

Give an area to one canvasser or several, with an optional target date. Each canvasser is emailed when turf is assigned to them.

Everyone knows where they are going before they leave the office.

Progress on every assignment

Doors visited, doors remaining and a clear state for each area: not started, in progress, ready to close.

Spot the area that has stalled while there is still time to send help.

Maps that stay fast at any zoom

Zoomed out, doors gather into clusters with a count; at street level every door is its own dot. Thousands of doors stay quick on a phone.

A whole ward on screen without the map grinding to a halt.

Areas close themselves at 90%

When nine doors in ten have a result, the area is marked complete, the date is recorded and canvassers stop being directed back to it.

The last few doors are usually unreachable; your team moves on to fresh ground.

At the door

Everything a canvasser needs in one hand, on the phone they already own.

Tap a house, record the visit

Tap the map, the address fills itself in, and your campaign's own questions appear. Save, and the pin takes the colour of the answer.

Seconds per door, and the map shows the result for the whole team.

A form that follows the conversation

The main question comes first. Answer "nobody home" or "left in the mailbox" and the conversation questions step aside.

No irrelevant questions at a door where nobody answered.

Every visit to a door, newest first

Open a door and see what happened there before: each earlier visit, its answers, who recorded it and when.

A second pass starts where the first left off, instead of starting over.

Apartments and condos, unit by unit

Where your list has unit numbers, the form asks which unit, from the list itself. Each unit is its own door with its own history.

A 40-unit building is 40 conversations, and it is counted as 40.

Record a whole street at once

Pick a poll and a street, tap the doors you knocked, and fill in the form once for up to 50 doors. Contact details are left out when several doors are recorded together.

A literature drop or a quiet street is recorded in one step, not fifty.

Correct a mistake for 24 hours

A pencil on a recent visit reopens it with its answers filled in. Saving updates that visit; it is not a second visit and it is not charged again.

A wrong tap is fixed on the spot, and your numbers stay true.

Nothing recorded, nothing counted

Open the form and save it empty, and the door stays available for the next round. An empty save is not a visit and is never charged.

Your coverage figures only count doors where something happened.

People at every door

Know who you are talking to, and remember it for them, not just for their house.

Names from your list, at their own door

Upload the list your race issued and every door shows the people who live there, unit by unit, with their poll.

Canvassers greet people by name and know who they have not met yet.

Answers person by person

Tick who said what, or Everyone here for the whole household. Each visit in the history says who it was for.

Two people at one door can see things differently, and your records show it.

Add the people you meet

The + on any door adds a name, phone and email for the whole team, even at a door with nobody on your list.

A new tenant, or a homeowner who wants a quote, is captured on the spot.

Permission recorded, not assumed

Before taking details the canvasser reads one question, such as "May we contact you by phone or email?", and ticks it. The answer is stored with the exact wording, who asked and when.

You know who agreed to hear from you, the record Canada's anti-spam law expects.

Voter counts on every door

Close in on the map and each door shows how many voters live there: blue until anyone has voted, amber when some have, green when all have.

Plan a shift by people, not just by houses.

Get out the vote

Supporters by poll, who has already voted from the clerk's lists, and a call sheet of supporters who have not.

The last week goes on the yeses who still have to vote.

Yours, and only yours

Names are seen only by your campaign, and by each canvasser only within their own areas. Nothing is ever deleted without telling you first.

Your list stays your list.

Results you can act on

Campaign overview

Coverage for the whole campaign, a breakdown of every question, coverage by area and your team, on one page.

The morning meeting starts with facts, not guesses.

Click an answer, see the doors

Click any answer in the breakdown and the map and door-by-door table filter to the doors that gave it.

Find every "undecided" door on a street before your second pass.

Download to a spreadsheet

Export whatever is on screen as a CSV: address, area, answers, canvasser and date, in your campaign's time zone.

Hand your GOTV list to whoever needs it, in the tool they already use.

Follow-ups that do not get lost

Any date question creates a follow-up for that door. Reschedule it, close it, or hand it to another canvasser.

"Call back Thursday" is on someone's list on Thursday.

Each canvasser's own numbers

Every canvasser has a dashboard of their own work: doors today, their answers, their follow-ups and their areas. Organisers can open any canvasser's record.

Volunteers who can see what they achieved come back next weekend.

Your team and your brand

Your campaign's name on the app your volunteers carry.

Invite canvassers by email

Add a canvasser and they receive a secure link to set their own password. Deactivate and reactivate them at any time.

Onboarding a volunteer takes a minute, and nobody emails passwords around.

Your logo and colours

Your campaign name, logo and colour on the canvasser app bar.

Volunteers carry your campaign, not ours.

English and French

Canvassers choose English or French in the app menu.

Bilingual teams work in the language they are comfortable in.

Your time zone everywhere

Every date and time is shown in your campaign's own time zone, and "today" is your campaign's today.

Evening canvassing lands on the right day in your reports.

Directions to the work

The app points each canvasser to their least-finished area, and zooms in when they arrive. Their location stays on their phone.

Less time finding the turf, more time at doors.

Questions

What campaigns like yours ask before they start.

Can my reps record contact details at the door?

Yes. Your questions can include phone and email fields, and every answer is on the door's record and in the CSV export.

Can a manager see every rep's doors?

Yes. The dashboard shows every door your team recorded, coverage by territory, each rep's numbers and every open follow-up.

Does it work on any phone?

Yes. KnockTurf runs in the browser on iPhone and Android, with nothing to install, and the map stays fast across a whole territory.

Put your campaign on the map this week.

Your first 200 visits are free. After that it is $0.025 a visit, with no subscription and no contract.

Set up in an afternoon. Your volunteers only need the phone they already carry.
